Ashfield Comprehensive School is a school located in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, England, which educates children ages 11–19.
Ashfield currently has approximately 3,500 students, split into 6 houses names Trent, Chesterfield, Thoroton, Byron, Hargreaves and Coates. Houses contain students from all years except those from the sixth form.
September 2007 saw the opening of a brand new multi-million pound post-16 centre offering A-level courses as well as Vocational Studies. The current head teacher is Mr Richard (Dick) Vasey. Ashfield had recently been chosen for a training ground for the 2012 Olympics due to its well-equipped sport facilities. It has been recently ranked as one of the best schools in the UK and is currently the 3rd biggest school in the UK.
