Doadとは 意味・読み方・使い方

Doad is a clan of Rajput Chandravanshi. Large settlements of Doads are found in Dist. Hoshiarpur (Punjab), Nawanshahar (Punjab) and Dist Una (Himachal). But there are also Doads found in Faridkot, Bathinda, Ferozpur etc. Some Doads who have immigrated to North America and Europe from village Jalwehra have changed their family name to Jalwehra or Dodd. In the earlier British accounts the Doad history was recorded under the "Dod Clan". The history of the Doad clan is beautifully described in A Glossary of the Tribes and castes of the Punjab and North -West Frontier Province compiled by H. A. Rose and based on the Census Report for the Punjab 1883, by Sir Denzil Ibbetson, and the census report for the Punjab 1892 by Sir Edward Maclagan.
