voiding cystourethrography (countable and uncountable, plural voiding cystourethrographies, abbreviation VCUG)

1. (medicine) A radiographic imaging procedure in which a contrast-filled bladder is examined with fluoroscopic X-rays during both filling and urination to evaluate the anatomy and function of the bladder and urethra, and to detect abnormalities such as vesicoureteral reflux, urethral obstruction, or bladder-emptying disorders.
