他の部位に転移した乳がんや化学療法後6カ月以内に再発した乳がんに対する治療に用いられる薬物。新たに診断された乳がんや他の種類のがんに対する治療薬としても研究されている。アブラキサンは細胞分裂阻害薬の一種である。「nanoparticle paclitaxel（ナノ粒子パクリタキセル）」、「protein-bound paclitaxel（蛋白結合パクリタキセル）」、「paclitaxel albumin-stabilized nanoparticle formulation（パクリタキセル・アルブミン安定化小粒子製剤）」、「abi-007」とも呼ばれる。
