a condition in which slightly abnormal cells grow on the thin layer of tissue that covers the cervix. these abnormal cells are not malignant (cancer) but may become cancer. also called cervical squamous intraepithelial neoplasia 1.

子宮頸部を覆う薄い組織層において、若干の異常を呈する細胞が増殖している状態。この異常な細胞は悪性（がん）ではないが、のちにがん化する可能性がある。「cervical squamous intraepithelial neoplasia 1（子宮頸部扁平上皮内腫瘍1）」とも呼ばれる。
