A Hydrant Coupler is a type of aircraft fueling equipment which opens and allows fuel to flow through the hydrant cart into the aircraft. The Hydrant Coupler needs 60 lbs of air pressure to open up the pit valve to allow the flow of fuel. The hydrant coupler runs off a pressure fueling system; a pressure fueling system consists of fuel and air pressure. The hydrant coupler can handle tons of pounds of pressure, it is very important that every nut, bolt and screw is tighten all the way down. If every nut, bolt and screw is not tighten down fuel could blow out of the hydrant coupler.
