     Ingenio studioque sedulus, partes externas corporis Piezatorum examini exactissimo anatomico subjiciebat, denominationibusque aptissimis designabat; ipsorum instrumentorum cibariorum fabricam et structuram optime cognoscebat (conferas Fasc. II, Cap. II, tabulam II), nec minus accurate contextum alae, formasque et situs cellularum ejus, non solum descripsit sed etiam ad distingueda genera adhibuit (v. c. Pepsin et Ophionem pagina 12 forma diversa cellularum distinxit).

     With his ingenuity and diligence, he subjected the external parts of the body of the Piezators to the most exact anatomical examination, and designated them with the most suitable denominations; he knew very well the construction and structure of the feeding instruments themselves (compare Fasc. II, Cap. II, table II), and no less accurately he not only described the structure of the wing, and the forms and locations of its cells, but also used them to distinguish genera (see Pepsis and Ophion, page 12, distinguished by the different forms of cells).
