     A bad experience with an unfriendly person, rough child, or aggressive dog could have an antisocializing effect, turning your Beagle into an overly shy dog, or even a dog who bites out of fear.

     In other words, the harsh child rearing to obtain unconditional obedience did not of itself antisocialize many Germans.
