estrene (plural estrenes)

1. (biochemistry) A derivative of estradiol characterized by a structure that includes a phenolic ring.

     A series of compounds related to the estrenes, parent saturated hydrocarbon of which is 5a-estrane (Fig. 4.3), have been obtained by removing the 19-methyl group (No R or Nor) attached to the 10th position in androstene derivatives.
