• Scientifically, Jurassic refers to the middle period of the Mesozoic, when creatures like Allosaurus, Stegosaurus, and Brontosaurus lived. This means that many popular dinosaurs, such as Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops, despite popularly being described as "Jurassic", are not actually from the period.
