make the rounds (third-person singular simple present makes the rounds, present participle making the rounds, simple past and past participle made the rounds)

1. To circulate from one place to another.

   The naked photos of that celebrity have been making the rounds in the tabloids.

2. (medicine) To go from one place to another for a particular reason.

   The doctors at the hospital check on the patients when they make the rounds at nine o'clock.
