Anthony Edward Pierce was the Bishop of Swansea and Brecon from 1998 until 2008.
Pierce was born on 16 January 1941, educated at Dynevor School, Swansea, University College Swansea and Linacre College, Oxford and ordained after a period of study at Ripon College Cuddesdon in 1966. He held curacies at St Peter, Swansea and St Mary and Holy Trinity, Swansea before being appointed Vicar of Llwynderw in 1974, a post he held until 1992. He was then Archdeacon of Gower until 1999 when he ascended to the Episcopate. He retired in 2008.
