The episodes of the first season of the Zatch Bell! anime, known as Konjiki no Gash Bell!! (金色のガッシュベル!!^?, lit. "Golden Gash Bell!!) in Japan, are directed by Tetsuji Nakamura and Yukio Kaizawa and produced by Toei Animation. The series was aired on Fuji TV in Japan. They are based on Makoto Raiku's Konjiki no Gash!! (金色のガッシュ!!^?, lit. Golden Gash!!) manga series, and adapt the 1st through 11th volumes of the manga over fifty episodes. The plot follows Kiyo Takamine and his Mamodo (魔物, Mamono^?, lit. "demon") partner Zatch Bell's adventures in a tournament that will decide the ruler of the Mamodo world.
