Operation Hush was to be an amphibious landing on the Belgian coast during World War I, supported by a breakout attack from Nieuwpoort and the Yser bridgehead. Due to its heavy defenses and fortifications Operation Hush was cancelled after the failure at Passchendaele, and no landing ever occurred. The British chose Middelkerke as the site for the landings instead because its defenses were much weaker.
