TECHWR-L (pronounced "tech-whirl") is the oldest and largest online community of technical writers in the world. TECHWR-L includes:

• An email discussion list, which has approximately 3,000 direct subscribers and an estimated 5,000 additional daily readers worldwide through newsgroups and Web readership. The email list was set up by Eric J. Ray in March 1993 at Oklahoma State University, who was a lone technical writer at the time seeking input and community from other technical writers.
• A Web site ([1]) with a variety of resources, articles, and materials that draw as many as 2,000,000 page views and 200,000 unique visitors per month.
