The Trinity Lionとは 意味・読み方・使い方

The Trinity Lion is the most prestigious award a sportsman can achieve at Trinity College, Kandy. The first Rugby Lions were awarded in 1915, to A. Halangoda and R. Ondaatje. Since then there have been 129 Rugby Lionsmen (until 2004). The list of famous Trinity Lions includes former Sri Lankan Foreign Minister, Lakshman Kadirgamar; Sri Lankan Cricketers Kumar Sangakkara, Ravi Ratnayeke and T.B.Werapitiya; and Olympic Silver Medalist Duncan White. There have been two Triple Lions in Trinity's history: Sydney Ratwatte won his 'Lions' in Rugby, Cricket and Boxing during the late 1920s. Thushara Weerasuriya achieved this feat during the 1980s, winning his 'Lions' in Cricket, Rugby and Athletics.
