Vijayadurgaとは 意味・読み方・使い方

Shri Vijayadurga is located in kerim, Ponda Taluka - Goa. She is a family deity as well as mostly considered as a Pallavi of many Gouda Saraswat Brahmins. It was once said that Shri Shantadurga of Keloshi who is now worshiped in Kavlem had come to Sankhwal to destroy the demons who were harassing the brahmins there. The Goud Saraswat brahmins prayed and asked Shri Shantadurga of Kavlem to help. She readily agreed and came to help the brahmins and got them rid of the demons. When she completed here task she earned the name of 'Vijaya' which means Victory. A temple in her honour was built. The aggressive form of the Keloshi/Kavale Shantadurga is worshiped in present day Gothana- Velinga (Goa) and called Shri Shantadurga Sankhwaleshwari. The temples of these Deities are of not much prominence as that of Shri Shantadurga (Kavlem), Shri Mangesh Maharudra, or Shri Mahalasa Narayani, therefore these temples are never mentioned in the tourist lists of Goan Tourism.
