「就業日」とは，週に属する日であって，次に掲げる日以外のものをいう。土曜日，日曜日，聖金曜日，復活祭翌日，アンザック・デイ，君主誕生日，労働祝祭日，及びワイタンギ・デイ，並びに該当する地域において，その地域が一部をなしている州の記念日とされている日，並びに毎年の12月25日に始まり，次に掲げる日に終わる期間に属する日第171条における場合を除いて，翌年の1月2日，又は第171条における場合は，翌年1月15日，並びに何れかの年において1月1日が金曜日に当たる場合は，次の月曜日，並びに何れかの年において1月1日が土曜日又は日曜日に当たる場合は，次の月曜日及び火曜日例文帳に追加
