「hard to do」は、「なかなかできない」を直訳した表現である。物理的な困難さや、技術的な難しさを強調する場合によく用いられる。
「task」(タスク)、「job」(仕事)、「work」(作業)など、具体的な行動や作業を指す名詞と一緒に使われることが多い。
1. It's hard to do this task without any help.(このタスクは助けがなければなかなかできない)
2. Learning a new language is hard to do.(新しい言語を学ぶのはなかなかできない)
3. It's hard to do well in the exam without studying.(勉強しなければ試験で良い成績を取るのはなかなかできない)
「difficult to accomplish」は、「達成するのが難しい」という意味合いが強い。目標や目的を達成することが困難であることを強調する場合に用いられる。
「goal」(目標)、「objective」(目的)、「mission」(ミッション)など、達成すべき目標や目的を指す名詞と一緒に使われることが多い。
1. It's difficult to accomplish this goal without a clear plan.(明確な計画がなければこの目標を達成するのはなかなかできない)
2. The mission is difficult to accomplish without teamwork.(チームワークがなければこのミッションを達成するのはなかなかできない)
3. It's difficult to accomplish a major change in a short period of time.(短期間で大きな変化を達成するのはなかなかできない)
「not easy to achieve」は、「達成するのが容易ではない」という意味合いが強い。目標や成果を達成することが難しいことを強調する場合に用いられる。
「goal」(目標)、「result」(結果)、「success」(成功)など、達成すべき目標や成果を指す名詞と一緒に使われることが多い。
