- Cornwall: Seen from 1284. From St Ia, a Cornish saint.
- Cambridgeshire: Seen from 1110. From Ivo of Ramsey, a Cornish saint whose relics were found here.
- Dorset: Seen from 1167. 'Place overgrown with ivy' from 古期英語 *īfet. Saint added more recently in reference to other settlements called St Ives.
- New South Wales: Named in 1900, likely from either the Cornish town or after Isaac Ellis Ives, a local politician.
