語源
From *essēns (hypothetical present participle of sum (“to be”)) + -ia, by analogy with the present infinitive esse, and other derivations from the same root, such as absentia (from absum) and praesentia (from praesum); coined by Cicero to translate Ancient Greek οὐσία (ousía), which is its exact cognate. Literally, “beingness”.

Essentia is a manufacturer and retailer of natural memory foam mattresses and pillows. The company was formed in May 2006 by Jack Dell'Accio in Montreal, Canada. Essentia's line of eco-friendly and healthy sleep products are the only biodegradable memory foam products in the world. With initiatives for the eco-conscious community such as discounts to hybrid vehicles owners, and offering discounts to the hospitality industry who are making efforts to go green, Essentia are among the leaders of the healthy sleep movement. Headquartered in Laval, Quebec Canada, Essentia operates both mall and standalone stores. Essentia is the first company in the world to create an "All-Natural sleeping surface".
