1. (colloquial, derogatory) A Christian denomination espousing doctrines or worship customs rejected by the majority of Christians.

使用する際の注意点

• The term fringe church carries an informal and condescending connotation similar to the term cult (sense 3). When describing this type of religious denomination in a more formal and neutral manner, it is preferable to use alternative terms such as Christian new religious movement or new religious movement based on Christianity.
