1. (historical, Ancient Greece) A veil or headscarf worn by women in antiquity, keeping together three items of ornamental hair binding: ampux (άμπυξ) (frontlet), kekruphalos (κεκρύφαλος) (snood) and anadesme (headband) (mentioned as early as in Iliad XXII 470, but also later, mainly in poetry, while the headscarf itself was called kalymna (κάλυμνα), kalyptre (καλύπτρη))^[1][2]

     Further proof that the Kredemnon indicates the sun's path through the stars which was first thought to be marked by the Milky Way, the original Kredemnon, is givn in the story of Odusseus.

   • 1971, Christine Brooke-Rose, A ZBC of Ezra Pound:

     That particular god is within us (es deus in nobis), and gives us a kredemnon, and is of Cadmus' line, Cadmus having invented the alphabet and built Thebes (in Greece) out of dragon-teeth remaining from a fratricidal struggle.
