ulcerative colitis (usually uncountable, plural ulcerative colitides)

1. (pathology) A chronic disease, characterized by abdominal pain and diarrhea mixed with blood, that results in inflammation and ulcers of the colon and rectum; one of the two main types of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
