Schwartzkopffstraße (Berlin U-Bahn)の英語

Schwartzkopfstraße is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the U6. Build in 1923 by Grenander/Fehse/Jennen. Due to massive financial problems the station was build in a very simple way. No artworks on the columns or walls which are only plastered. In 1951 the station was named "Walter Ulbricht Stadion" because of a stadium nearby. In 1961 the station was closed for the citizens of East Germany. The trains passed without stop. 1973 the station was renamed to "Stadion der Weltjugend"- although the station was not used by people ! 1991 it was renamed to the first name the station got. The scruffy stadium nearby was demolished. In 1995 the platform was elongated for trains with six waggons. Today, all the U6 trains stop at this station.
