     At the annual general meeting of the company, held on April 4 of the present year, the Chairman stated that, after leave to introduce a Bill into Tynwald for closing down the line was refused, a sale of the company's railway assets to the Manx Government for £50,000 was provisionally agreed. This purchase was approved by Tynwald in December last.
