   • 1896, R.I. Pearson & Co., The Western Dental Journal^[1], volume 10, page 457:

     I do not mean osseous sarcoma, but the ordinary sarcomatic condition found in an abnormal growth of the tissues.

   • 1928, New York (N.Y.). Memorial Hospital for the Treatment of Cancer and Allied Diseases, Laboratory and Clinical Studies^[2], volume 9, page 472:

     This statement is of exceptional interest in that it supports the view that while cancer does occur among South African natives, broadly speaking, it is chiefly of a sarcomatic type or, if a carcinomata, affects the liver.
