In mathematics, any two elements x and y of a set P, which is partially ordered by a binary relation ≤, are either comparable or incomparable. Specifically, the elements x and y are comparable if and only if x ≤ y or y ≤ x. Otherwise, x and y are incomparable. The relation ≤ is called a partial order for the set P.
