a change in the heat and electricity passed through the skin by nerves and sweat. electrodermal response increases in certain emotional states and during hot flashes that happen with menopause. also called skin conduction and galvanic skin response.

神経や発汗の作用によって皮膚中での熱や電流の伝わり方が変化すること。特定の感情状態にあるときや、閉経に伴ってほてりが生じているときには、皮膚電気反応の亢進が認められる。「skin conduction（皮膚伝導）」、「galvanic skin response（電気皮膚反応）」とも呼ばれる。
