Khat, qat, gat, Miraa or Sallaa (
/ˈkɑːt/ kaht; Catha edulis, family Celastraceae; Arabic: قات qāt; Hebrew: גת, gat; Somali: qaad) is a flowering plant native to tropical East Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. Its Amharic name in Ethiopia is ጫት.
