Henry Southwell (bishop)とは 意味・読み方・使い方

Henry Kemble Southwell was the third Bishop of Lewes from 1920 until 1926. Born in 1860, and educated at Charterhouse and Magdalen College, Oxford he held curacies at Ellesmere, Shropshire, St Clement's, Bournemouth and St Nicolas, Guildford; then incumbencies at Chetton and Bodmin before becoming a Canon Residentiary of Chichester Cathedral. Elevated to the Episcopate, initially with the additional title of Archdeacon of Lewes in 1920 he held office for six years and died on 9 March 1937, his son having predeceased him during the First World War. A fund initiated after his death yielded enough contributions to provide a memorial which can be seen at St Cuthman Whitehawk in Brighton.
