Joe Hune (born May 29, 1980) is a politician from the U.S. state of Michigan. He is currently the State Senator from the 22nd district which covers Livingston County, Shiawassee County, and a portion of Southern Ingham County Bunker Hill Twp,Leslie Twp, Stockbridge Twp and Vevay Twp, which includes the Cities of Mason and Leslie. Before that, he was a Republican member of the Michigan House of Representatives from the 47th district in Livingston County which includes the Townships of Conway, Cohoctah, Deerfield, Hartland, Howell, Handy, Iosco, Unadilla, Hamburg and Tyrone, City of Howell, and the Villages of Fowlerville and Pickney. Hune was elected in 2002. He won the Republican primary in what is considered a safe GOP district at the age of 21. In an intense primary, Hune initially lost by one vote but won after a re-count of the votes. Hune has spoken as a major or keynote speaker at a variety of Republican functions, including the Young Republicans and College Republicans. He was chair of the House Insurance Committee and was term limited out of the state house in 2008.
