'Misr Diwan Chand was a notable pillar of the state of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's reign . A Brahmin, he rose from petty clerk to chief of artillery and commander-in-chief of the armies that conquered Multan and Kashmir Misr Diwan Chand was the most successful punjabi general in the history. He waqs the one who captured Kashmir and Multan. In fact more than 80% of Ranjit Singh's kingdom was won by Diwan Chand on the behalf of Maharaja. Misr Diwan Chand was the commander-in-chief of Punjab army from 1817 to 1825. He was a pillar on whose back the powerful Punjabi Kingdom arose.
