Originally a serious comment by Hillary Rodham Clinton in 1998, in reference to the perception that her husband was being persecuted, the term has since been adopted by conservatives who feel proud of this label. Rush Limbaugh, radio talk show host, has referred to his fan base as the "Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy" and himself as "Mr. Big" of the VRWC.
