From French archéologue, from post-classical Latin archaiologus or its etymon Byzantine Greek ἀρχαιολόγος (arkhaiológos), from Ancient Greek ἀρχαιο- (arkhaio-, “archaeo-”) + -λογος (-logos, “-logue”).[1]
