     The 247,000 figure is the total of the populations given for all the Southeast Asian countries where the Min Dong language is spoken. In other words, the 2000 edition still does not list a population for Min Dong in China. The confusion probably stems from the fact that the Min Dong figures are incorrectly included under the Min Bei population.
