drivehead (複数形 driveheads)

1. (engineering) A cap or similar end-piece that fits over or into the end of a moving mechanical part to protect the end from driving of that part.

     Stating that the circumstances of this accident disclosed a number of features which ought to be borne in mind in working shearer loader faces, Mr. Nussey points out that the drivehead of the conveyor was not securely stelled before the accident and the extra pull on the haulage rope pulled it towards the centre of the face.

     One end of the sleeve is bolted to the drive spring and the other end of the drive spring is bolted to the drivehead. The drivehead is keyed and bolted to the armature shaft by the shank of the same bolt that holds the drivespring to the drivehead.
