The 1991 Masters Tournament was the 55th Masters Tournament held from April 11-14 at Augusta National Golf Club. Ian Woosnam, José María Olazábal and Tom Watson were all tied at -11 going into the 72nd hole. Olazábal, who was playing ahead of Woosnam and Watson, made his first bogey of the day on 18 after going from fairway bunker to greenside bunker and failing to hole a 40 foot par putt. Watson, who had eagled both 13 and 15, hit his tee shot into the pine straw right on 18 then into the green side bunker. He chipped out and three putted for a double bogey 6. Woosnam then holed a five foot putt for par to win his first major championship by one stroke over Olazábal.
