The Daktory is a cannabis dispensary and cannabis connoisseur's club located in the suburb of New Lynn, Waitakere City (incorporated in the Auckland metropolitan area), New Zealand. The Daktory was founded by Dakta Green and is New Zealand's first cannabis dispensary. The Daktory operates in open defiance of New Zealand drug legislation prohibiting the cultivation, possession, sale and consumption of cannabis. Members are called 'Daktas' and are registered under a pseudonym of their choice. They pay a monthly fee to join which allows them access to The Daktory. Once inside, members openly smoke cannabis using any of the many paraphernalia provided. At various times cannabis is also openly grown in and sold from the Daktory. Nationwide branches of the Daktory are planned for all major New Zealand cities and other areas of strong demand for cannabis.
