Labocaniaとは 意味・読み方・使い方

Labocania is a genus of theropod, possibly tyrannosauroid, dinosaur from Baja California, Mexico, which lived 70 million years ago, in the Campanian stage of the late Cretaceous Period. The name references the "La Bocana Roja" Formation, which translates as "red lips". The type species, L. anomala, was described by Ralph Molnar in 1974. Labocania is based on fragmentary material, and its affinities are uncertain. Molnar noted certain similarities between Labocania and tyrannosaurids (especially in the form of the ischium), but he did not assign Labocania to any family. The cranial elements are very robust, and the frontals in particular are thickened. The size of this predator is unknown, but it was probably a medium sized carnivore, about 6 meters long (20 ft). It was included as a possible tyrannosauroid in the 2004 review of the group by Thomas R. Holtz, Jr..
