1. (anatomy, obsolete, rare) Pertaining to or near the outside of the body.
   • 1661, Matthew Stevenson, The Twelve Moneths:

     The heat of the Stomack is more intense, and vigorous to concoct what it requires or receives, then it will be when the Sun with his nearer neighbourhood calls forth that now self-centered heat to the extimous and cutaneous parts of the body.

   • 1724, John Maubray, chapter 8, in The Female Physician, page 63:
