「list」は、項目が順序立てて並べられたものを指す。数値や文字列など、具体的な情報が列挙されている場合に用いられる。項目間に特別な関連性がなくても、単に一連の情報を提示するために使われる。
「make a list(リストを作る)」「shopping list(買い物リスト)」「wish list(希望リスト)」「list of attendees(出席者リスト)」など。

「summary」は、詳細な情報や長い文章を短く要約したものを指す。主要なポイントや結論が簡潔にまとめられている場合に用いられる。
「write a summary(要約を書く)」「summary of the report(報告書の要約)」「executive summary(エグゼクティブサマリー)」など。
