「affinity」は、一般的に物事や人々の間に存在する自然な引力や相性を指す。人間関係だけでなく、科学や技術の分野でも使われ、特定の物質が他の物質と反応しやすい性質を指す場合もある。
「have an affinity for」(~に親和性を感じる)、「natural affinity」(自然な親和性)、「affinity with」(~との親和性)などがある。

「compatibility」は、二つ以上の要素が互いに適合し、一緒にうまく機能する性質を指す。特に、技術やシステムの文脈でよく使われる。人間関係においても、互いに調和し、対立せずに共存できる状態を指す。
「high compatibility」(高い互換性)、「compatibility issue」(互換性の問題)、「check compatibility」(互換性を確認する)などがある。
