From Hindi घोड़ू (ghoṛū), a combination of घोड़ा (ghoṛā) + -ऊ (-ū), literally meaning "horse-like." (The voiced retroflex flap is colloquially rendered in English as a "d" instead of as an "r" by Hindi transliteration.)

使用する際の注意点

• Considered an extremely offensive and abusive term by Haryanvi people.
• Sometimes directed at individuals who promote casteism or Hindu nationalism, or proclaim the superiority of their caste or tribe based on works of history and historiography which are seen as fringe or spurious, and are therefore viewed as intentionally divisive and sectarian.
• Sometimes combined with other terms. For example, a "ghodu Jaat" would be a highly pejorative term to describe a Jat supremacist of Haryanvi or Punjabi origin.
