make known (third-person singular simple present makes known, present participle making known, simple past and past participle made known)

1. (transitive) To announce (some information) generally.

   The decision was made known when it appeared on the evening news.

   Hereby I make known my pleasure.

   • 1960 December, “Talking of Trains: Tube trains from Derby”, in Trains Illustrated, page 706:

     This was announced in October when details of a £4 million order for car bodies and bogies to complete the Central and Piccadilly Line's rolling stock renewal programmes with 619 more "1959 Stock" cars were made known.

2. (transitive) To disclose (a secret).

   I wouldn't make this known to anyone else, if I were you.
