Digital Vomit Records is an electronic music collective and label as well as the successor to the short-lived Couch Fort Records. Founded by James "Solypsis" Miller, Digital Vomit was not only a name change for Couch Fort, it was also a philosophical 180. All creative decisions and release funding is done by the group at large and not specific individuals. The aim of Digital Vomit is to be completely open and democratic, allowing for all individuals to participate and contribute, and for the "label" to become completely self-sustaining without any real financial risk or burden for anyone. Since its inception in 2005 Digital Vomit has released music on CD, vinyl, MP3, DVD, cassette and 8-track cartrdige, and have also produced badges and t-shirts. The label name is commonly shortened to "DV" or "DigiVom".
