- (US, informal) The honorific used by the social host of the jurisdictional executive office (ie. POTUS, state governor); a role typically taken on by the First Lady (ie. FLOTUS); for executive social events. The term typically takes prominence during the terms of office of bachelor and widower chief executive officials, where an aide, wife of an aide, or female relative (ie. daughter) takes on the role, who is not the marital consort of the chief executive.[1][2][3][4][5]
