In response to their suggestions, we decided to consider two proposed models for the modeling of the swap curve: two-factor CIR and one-factor Quadratic Gaussian (QG). Empirical analysis and comparison with other representative interest rate models such as Nelson-Siegel, Svensson, and Vasicek were also conducted. As a result, while it was pointed out that CIR does not completely fit to low interest curves, the nonlinear expressiveness of QG with just one factor was found to be excellent.
