From Urdu حلالہ (halāla), the practice being called in Eastern Persian حلاله (halâla), while Iranian Persian uses محلل (mohallal), the Arabic term being تَحْلِيل (taḥlīl), scilicet نِكَاح التَحْلِيل (nikāḥ at-taḥlīl), زَوَاج التَحْلِيل (zawāj at-taḥlīl).
