使用する際の注意点

Due to its sense, generally unused in the masculine. Accordingly, in Classical Latin, no masculine nominative singular form is attested (neither *puerperus nor *puerper; the second would in theory be an alternative possible formation for an adjective with the stem puerpero-). The form puerperus is attested in Priscian and some later grammarians as a hypothetical form, stated or implied not to be in actual use.
